Carlene Carter Takes Mountain Stage

Bristol, TN-VA- Carlene Carter, standard bearer of the first family of country music, The Carter Family, will hit the airways this week (October 10-17) as she headlines Mountain Stage. The award winning NPR show was recorded live earlier this Fall in Bristol, TN/VA, where her grandmother Maybelle and family honed their craft that would forever change live music performances.

The show features self penned songs from Carlene's current Yeproc LP STRONGER as well as several traditional Carter family tunes. A complete list of stations and times can be found at the Mountain Stage website (http://www.mountainstage.org/mtnstageaffiliates.aspx)

One of the first bohemian country rockers, she has always known how to mix pop, country-rock and traditional sounds, and Stronger is yet another great testament to her musical sensibilities. Carter's abilities as a songwriter have never been stronger, hitting the listener straight in the heart.

"A staggering achievement by one of the great voices and fearless hearts of country rock" Bernie Taupin
