Ten Year Old to Perform at CMA Music Festival

Ten-year-old Katie Chance to Perform at 2008 CMA Music Festival
(Nashville, Tenn.) Katie Chance, a ten-year-old fourth-grader who lives in the Middle Tennessee area, will perform at the 2008 CMA Music Festival on Thursday, June 5, 11:50 a.m. on the McDonald's-Dr. Pepper Main Family Zone stage located in the Hall of Fame park at Fifth Ave & Demonbreun in downtown Nashville. She will be one of the youngest artists to ever take the stage at the prestigious annual event, which includes many of country music's biggest stars.
The CMA Music Festival performance is the latest in a long series of exciting developments for the young singer and songwriter, whose credits already include a duet with award-winning Sawyer Brown front man Mark Miller and songs in several motion pictures, including the King Red film project for children.
In early 2008, Katie released her debut single to radio, "Love In My Pocket," a song she co-wrote with her father. The song was played on several hundred Country & Christian radio stations nationally. Through local radio partners, listeners were given the opportunity to download "Love In My Pocket" for free and make a donation to Nashville's Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Autism Research Program
(TRIAD), where Katie was diagnosed with autism at 32 months and participated in their early intervention research program for three years.
Chance's performance at CMA Music Festival will include "Love In My Pocket" along with a distinctive rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," featuring characters from The Wizard of Oz. Katie will be accompanied by country duo Hometown News who will also perform their hit single "Minivan."
The Family Zone Stage performances are free and open to the public.
